Welcome to Deep Roots & Blooming Shoots! We're so glad you're here. Our deep passion to model a love for Jesus, through the power of His Spirit in daily discipleship to our own little ones, is what cultivated this prayerfully created curriculum.  As homeschooling parents ourselves, we understand the desire to shepherd our children to know and love the Lord. These unit studies and activities have been designed to equip families like yours to grow in faith together through the Word of God.

Our resources are thoughtfully designed for early learners, providing engaging, age-appropriate, gospel rich lessons that guide you in diving deep into Scripture together.

Whether you're new to homeschooling, biblical christianity, or you’ve been familiar with both for a long time, these supplemental resources were things we found hard to find ourselves! Deep Roots & Blooming Shoots is more than a curriculum—it's a body of believers pursuing Jesus together.

Meet Amanda

Co-Founder, Illustrator, and Graphic Designer
Amanda Ratkovich is a wife, mother of three girls, and a homeschooling mom with a passion for creativity and biblical teaching. With a lifelong love for painting, drawing, and creating with her hands, Amanda brings her artistic talents to life through the illustrations and content in Deep Roots and Blooming Shoots. Her heart for Scripture and intentional, hands-on learning led her to develop this Bible-based curriculum. As her oldest daughter entered 1st grade, Amanda saw a need for a solid, engaging resource that parents can use to guide their children deeper into God's Word — and so Deep Roots and Blooming Shoots was born.

Meet Chelsea

Co-Founder, Curriculum Writer, and Devotional Author
Chelsea Mammet is a wife, mother of two boys and a girl, and a dedicated Kids Director at her church. With degrees in Child Development and Theological Studies, Chelsea brings a deep understanding of both children’s education and God’s Word to Deep Roots and Blooming Shoots. She passionately believes that Scripture is active, breathing, and sanctifying us daily. Chelsea has a gift for discipleship and loves encouraging parents through the devotionals included in the curriculum — written to speak truth in love. As a dear friend of Amanda, Chelsea joined her in creating this Bible-based curriculum, prayerfully collaborating every step of the way to provide families with a resource that points their hearts to Jesus.

Meet Abby

Social Media and Marketing Director
Abby Shingler is passionate about sharing the gospel and equipping families to teach their children the good news of Jesus. Biblically homeschooled herself, Abby’s life is a testimony to the lasting fruit of a strong foundation in God’s Word. With a gifting & talent for branding, marketing, and communication, she brings creativity and intentionality to her role. Abby witnessed Amanda and Chelsea prayerfully develop this curriculum at her local bakery — which she co-founded — and felt deeply called to join the mission in 2025. Now serving as the Social Media and Marketing Director, Abby is dedicated to sharing the heart behind Deep Roots and Blooming Shoots with families everywhere.
